The area of the left bank is possibly the most stimulating in Paris. The Latin Quarter takes its name from the Latin spoken by students of the Sorbonne until the Revolution. The streets continue to buzz with bookshops, cafes, and jazz clubs. The Cathedral of Notre-Dame is the "heart" of Paris, both geographically and spiritually. It contains France's largest organ and it was the monument that inspired the "Huntchback of Notre-Dame" by Victor Hugo. This area is a must see when you are in Paris!
